Hello,

I am using the advanced template. When I go to my website, in the upper right hand corner there is a drop down menu that says "Your Theme" and next to it a drop down menu that lets you pick the theme such as advanced or default. How do I remove this box from the index/home page?

This dropdown is shown automatically, when you have several themes enabled.

If you've accidentally enabled all themes, then disable all but primary theme (the "default" in this case) from "Configuration > Website > Themes" section in Admin Console.
